Mission Statement
The mission of the mathematics curriculum is to provide students with the opportunity to achieve mathematical competency through computation, reasoning, problem solving, communicating, and making connections to daily life and other curriculum areas.
This goal will be achieved by practicing number operations, by defining problems and posing questions, and by using deductive reasoning and patterns to develop appropriate solutions in real world applications.
A strong and consistent curriculum will provide opportunities for students to obtain sophisticated mathematical skills, to solve complex problems, and to develop competent thinking and communicating skills. As students advance, the curriculum enables them to strengthen, refine, and apply these skills.
